Why is my LPG tank hissing in hot weather?

During very hot weather, the pressure inside your LPG tank can increase. Your tank is fitted with a Pressure Relief Valve (PRV), which is designed to automatically release pressure if it rises above safe operating limits.

If the PRV activates, you may hear a hissing sound or notice gas vapour being released. This is the safety system working as intended to protect the tank and it's surroundings.
